Featherdale Wildlife Park

Category : Travel

On Saturday, October 1st, Sagar, Jane, Zack, Levy, Holly and Sophie took us to the Featherdale Wildlife Park. It is a park full of Australian animals like the Kangaroo, Tassie Devil, Bilby and Ghost Bat. I also saw dingoes, a type of Australian prairie dog. I saw it it eat raw chicken and raw rabbit that the keepers brought. I also petted an Australian animal called a northern hairy-nosed wombat, the fluffiest type of wombat in Australia. Most of all I liked that kangaroos were jumping all over the place. I got to pet both the koala (very fluffy) and a very big kangaroo (even fluffier than the koala or the wombat!). I also liked the fruit bats. I learned that they ONLY drink the juice of a fruit. There was a farmhouse with ducks, sheep, rabbits, turkeys and hogs and some of them we got to pet and chase. We also saw a flightless bird called the southern cassowary. They had a crest that looked like chocolate. I learned a lot about marsupials. Such interesting animals!!!

I cannot wait to come back.
