BelAZ and Best Soundtrack Hits!

Category : Music, Travel

Grandpa got tickets for a tour to a BelAZ factory!!!! We were going withGrandpa, Mom, Evan, my friend Antony and his mom. In case you didn’t know, BelAZ are the biggest trucks in the world! We needed to drive to Zhodzina to get to the factory, which is 1 hour away. We met our tour guide and went (first) into the museum. There we learned that the biggest BelAZ can carry 450 tons of cargo! Imagine how BIG it has to be to carry that load. We saw a lot of things in the museum, including that BelAZ also makes railway cargo carriages! The BelAZes are so heavy that when they are taken to another country they have to be taken apart and then put back together when they got to their destination. We also learned that the factory is so big that you have to take a car (or, in special cases, a BelAZ) to get somewhere! Unfortunately, we took a normal car (boring). We saw BelAZes drive past (getting better), and at last, we drove to the place we planned to: the parking site of the biggest BelAZ in the world (COMPLETELY AWESOME!)!!!!!!!! It could carry a minimum of 450 tons and (ze coolest ting in ze world) we would get to go on it! It’s in the Guiness book of Records as the largest truck in the world. There are only 3 of these in the world so far – one in Russia, one in Belarus, and they are making one for Chile. It costs approximately 6 million dollars (I should start saving up!)!!! We measured ourselves next to the wheel first, and Antony and I were a tiny bit less than half of the wheel, and you can probably imagine how small Evan was compared to the wheel – about a quarter of it! We also laid down in the wheel. After that we went on to the BelAZ. It was humongous and I bet that a small house would fit in the bed of the truck! The cabin of the truck was tiny compared to the truck itself. We also went on a small BelAZ. It was definitely smaller than the on we went on previously. It was still pretty cool. We also went into the place that they made the BelAZes. There was a crane hanging from the ceiling that gave the builders parts to put together. It was wonderful.

After BelAZ my grandma and I went to Best Soundtrack Hits. It is when the Belarusian National Orchestra plays music from famous films. There is also a giant screen that plays the film. There was Back to the Future, Harry Potter, Mission Impossible, Gladiator, and more. The music sounded like the real film. We were pretty close to the stage, so we could see very well. It was beautiful. It was pretty long, too (about 2 hours).

It was a great day. I can’t wait to have another day like this one!
