Quiz: Which of these is the main landmark of Singapore that appears on key chains, t-shirts, posters, etc.?

a. Gardens By The Bay

b. Marina Bay Sands

c. Sentosa

Answer: Marina Bay Sands! In case you didn’t know, MBS is a world famous hotel. When it was built, the architect put a (fake) ship, called Skypark, on top of it. I wonder, if there is going to be a big flood, will the ship float and be safe? Mom has a colleague named Tang, who invited us to the Skypark, where a giant pool was located. It is on the 57th floor, so there is also a observation place from where you can look at Singapore. We came to MBS in the morning. Tang showed us the view from the window, which was AWE-some, and then went up. We immediately went to the observation point. The view was breathtaking! You could see everything – from the city to the busy port on the other side! We immediately went to snapping pictures of ourselves and the view.

We then went to the pool. The pool is the longest outdoor infinity pool in the world that hangs over the side of the Skypark. Why did they make it look like you are falling off the edge of the Skypark (and the pool)? The water was kind of cold, since it was still morning, but we still had a lot of fun swimming. On the other side of the Skypark are a few Jacuzzis with glass behind them. The view is of the docks, the water, and the boats in the water. We ended up sitting in a small hot pool with a great view. Evan didn’t want to get out, but Mom and I went out of it and went to the big, colder pool, which is more interesting and fun. Dad and Evan joined us, and we swam around until we had to go.

After we got out, we met up with Tang and her family, and together we went to The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands. It is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig complex of stores, shops, restaurants, and cafes. We went to Rasapura Masters, a set of restaurants that serve my favorite food: Xiao Long Bao, dumplings with meat and a lot of soup/juice! We found a giant table for the eight of us (Tang’s family, remember) and Kai (her son) and I started playing Set. We had a very heated game! But when the food came, the game stopped and we ate and ate and ate and ate… it was delicious! After eating, Kai and I went back to our Set game, as if nothing was as important.

We finished our game and then said goodbye. We had a great day and I hope to go to MBS again.
