Universal Studios Sentosa

Category : Travel

When Evan and I woke up in the morning, Mom surprised us by saying we were taking a cable car to Sentosa (Singapore’s island), and then… dun dun duuuuuuuun… GOING TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS! Me and Evan were dancing, we were so happy!

When we got to the cable car station, there was no line and immediately got to the cable car. When we got in, the doors s-l-o-o-o-o-w-l-y closed, and we were off. The cable car started accelerating, and we were shouting and taking pictures – it was so fun! We passed over the cruise harbor, and there were boats sailing right beneath us! The view was amazing!

When we got to Sentosa Station, we had to cross over to the Sentosa Cable Car line and fly one station, and when we got off, cross over to the Sentosa Express (train) and ride one station. It was kind of tiring, but we came to Universal Studios in the end. There, we ate quickly, and we shot out of the food court like rockets and went to the rides.

The first thing we went on was a ride in Madagascar called Madagascar: A Crate Adventure. You ride on a boat and see the movie Madagascar in 3d. For some reason, there was a very short wait, and so we got to the boat in no time. We got on, and we saw 4 crates labelled ‘Alex’, ‘Marty’, ‘Melman’, and ‘Gloria’, like in the movie. We swam through the lemur party. We rapidly swam and shouted through Foosa’s cave. In the end, there was a curtain of water that we were heading strait into! At the last second, the curtain parted and we safely went out of the cave, unsoaked. It was a great ride.

We went to a ride called Elmo and the Spaghetti Space Chase, which I did NOT want to go on, but Mom and Evan pushed me on. We were strapped in, and the ride started moving. We saw a lot of Elmo puppets that were trying to help us VANquish MACaRONi THE MERCILESS, who was using high-tech tractor beams to steal all the spaghetti from earth and send it to his planet headquarters, Planet Macaroni. Mom and Evan were really trying to stop him. I was sitting and looking at the fake stars of the ride. In the end, Mom, Evan (and a little bit me) managed to get back all the macaroni to earth. When the ride ended, we stepped out and congratulated each other. It was mostly like Mom and I congratulated Evan, but still.

After Spaghetti, we went to Sci-Fi land. We wanted to go on Transformers: The Ultimate 3d Battle. Once again, there was no line, and we went through the tunnel and got to the ride very quickly. As soon as our transformer pod started moving, we put on our 3d glasses, emerged from the tunnel and found ourselves in a vast open space, where 3d Transformers and Decepticons were running around and trying to destroy each other. It was so realistic! The yellow transformer, Bumblebee, dropped something into a large puddle, and we got splashed by water! Then the main Decepticon, named Megatron, approached our pod, picked it up and was about to throw it. And THAT’S when I heard a distinct: “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! GET ME OUT OF HERE GETMEOUTOFHERE!!!!” It was, as you may have guessed…. Evan! When we got off, we decided that we won’t go on the ride again. I liked it, though.

We came to Jurassic Park, but there was a lightning warning so we couldn’t go on outdoor rides. So, we decided to go to Far, Far Away (Shrek) to see what we could do over there. We found an indoor attraction called Shrek: The 4d Adventure. It had a short waiting time and it sounded nice, so we went in. It took us a little bit more time than we thought to get to the theater! When we sat down and put on our 3d glasses, the movie started, the seats started moving and water was spraying all over the place. There were ghosts, dragons, and other stuff, but we really liked it! The movie was fun and long, and it ended “Happily Ever After”.

When we came out of the theater, the outdoor rides opened again, and we came back to Jurassic Park to ride the Pteranodon. Because it just opened, there was a very small line and we immediately came to the front. The attendant let us in. Mom and Evan strapped themselves into one pteranodon, I went in another and we took off. We rose up and down and up and down and round and round. We were laughing and happy, we really liked the ride. Mom wanted to go again, but Evan and I had other ideas.

Evan and I told Mom that we wanted to go to the Amber Rock Climb. There is a rock wall, and you have to try to reach the top. Evan and I had to put on special shoes to climb the wall. There are also 3 tracks that you can choose from: Easy, Medium and Hard. I chose Medium, so as it wasn’t too Easy and wasn’t too Hard. I climbed up to the top very shortly. It was really nice. Challenging, too! Evan also tried to climb. He went pretty high too. When he let go of the wall, he was pretty much flying! Mom and I called him Iron Man, since Iron Man can fly like Evan.

It started raining hard, and we wanted to get under the roof and go to another attraction. While we were walking down 5th Avenue, NYC, Mom found a show called Lights, Camera, Action, that shows what a sound stage in movie making can do. In the start, there was an intro video with Steven Spielberg. He told us that the sound stage setting would be in the middle of a grade-5 hurricane. I wonder how he learned about the attraction? When we came in the room, the lights dimmed and sound like big winds came from somewhere. There was fire and things breaking. It was very realistic, and kind of scary! We were relieved when the show ended. Now we know how and where movies are made!

On that happy note, we ended our trip to Universal Studios Singapore. I hope we come back again.
