We arrived in Sydney in the evening, after a good night’s sleep. When we got to the house, it was amazing. We found out that our house has five floors! The very highest floor was a very tiny room that had a TV, a lot of books and to windows. The view is very good. Then I went to the bedroom and fell asleep, and didn’t wake up until 12:00. Me and my family ate a late breakfast, and went to the balcony. We screamed. There was a Lorikeet, a type of Aussie parrot! It was green and had a yellow beak. It flew into a tree. It was amazing to see parrots outside on the tree!

One day my dad, Evan, and I went to the Taronga Zoo. It is a nice zoo filled with wild turkeys, ibises, and many other birds and animals. When we came there,we got a special stamp. Then we went to the bird exhibit. We saw lorikeets, pigeons and many other types of birds. After walking around the exhibit we went to the nocturnal animal exhibit. we saw bats, bilbies, snakes and lizards. When we came out, we went to the kangaroo exhibit. The problem was, the kangaroos were too lazy to jump around! Then we went to the playground. Also, near the playground there was a lemur exhibit. The lemurs looked so funny, just sitting there and swinging their tails! To get there we needed to go on a train, a ferry, and a cable car. It was so great.

Once my dad, Evan, and I decided to go to the Maritime Museum, a museum of ships. We came and saw a lot of ships. First, we went onto the HMAS Onslow, a submarine used in the Cold War. It was very big. It had a periscope. It had 150-ton batteries. We walked from the stern to the bow. That’s the back and front of a boat. When we came out, we went onto the HMAS Vampire. It was a training ship. It had cannons that could shoot 20 miles far. It was very big as well. It had a helipad. Evan and I sat in the turrets. We also sat in the captain’s chair. We also found out that the wheel was located in another room. When we went off, we went onto the HMS Endeavour. It is Captain Cook’s ship. James Cook was a famous british explorer. He mapped lands from New Zealand to Hawaii. He discovered many unknown places. He sailed around the Pacific Ocean for 12 years. He was killed in his second journey to Hawaii. When we were off the ship, we went to the Green Lighthouse. When we came to the top, we could see everything!

It was great. I cannot wait to come again.
