Taieri Gorge to Pukerangi

Category : Travel

One day we got tickets to go on a scenic train trip on Dunedin Railways. All of my family (including me) like trains, so we were excited to go. The trains are slow and old-fashioned, and there are a lot of tunnels. The longest tunnel is 1 kilometer long! Also, the engineer always tells stories, you see a lot of animals AND once in a while you get out of the train, walk around and breathe fresh air. Once we walked out onto a bridge that was crossing a river! I especially liked standing on a platform on the train. It was on open air (there were no walls or windows!) so you could hang your hand outside the train but beware of the tunnels! Plus, they built the tracks alongside a river. There is another route called the seasider that goes along the shore. We are thinking of going on it. If we go I’ll tell you about it!

Fun Fact: Dunedin Train Station is THE most photographed building in New Zealand!
