Our friends Jeff and Lisa suggested to do something fun: clamming!
On a Sunday we came to Jeff and Lisa’s and we grabbed a few buckets and set off. We were going to a place called Warrington Surf. It is a place where you come and (I couldn’t believe it at first) you put your hand into the sand and you retrieve a LOT of clams (and very rarely, an oyster). After a few minutes we are picking up clams left and right. Then I retrieve what is by my opinion a very weirdly-shaped clam. I give it to Jeff, and he announces that what I picked up is an oyster! I am walking all around and BOASTING that I caught an oyster and I lose hold of it and (I am ashamed to admit this) drop it into the water. I was digging around and I still couldn’t find my oyster. I was so sad when we got into the car. Then we drive to Jeff and Lisa’s and fed the alpacas. An alpaca is (by my opinion) a no-humped camel or a long-necked sheep. Their names were Ollie, Teddy, Chewy and Doc. They are really cute and soft but you can’t really hug them. They can spit at you! After a few minutes we went to eat a delicious dinner (and the clams).
It was a wonderful day. We came again 1 more time but also no oysters. Still, it was very fun collecting clams!
