It was late at night (7:00 o’clock PM) when we arrived in Singapore. At least for me it was, because it is a 5-hour difference from Auckland and I slept only 2 hours on the 10-hour-long flight. I was veeeeeery tired when I got off the plane and into Changi Airport. We needed to drive to Marina Bay because our apartment was there. 2 hours later we were at our apartment, which was on the 53rd floor. You could see everything from there! But when I reached the bed, I immediately fell asleep.
When I woke up, my dad told me that at night there was a light show at Marina Bay Sands, a very tall tower close to ours. We also decided that today we will go to the National Museum of Singapore. It has a lot of information about Singapore. I learned that in World War II the Japanese army conquered Singapore and took it away from the British and it was renamed Syonan-To (Light of the South). Then the British got Singapore back, but Singapore decided to be independent. It got independence but then it and Malaysia became 1 country for 2 years. In 1963 it became fully independent. There was also an exhibit that told about relations of Singapore with every other world country. We were able to find Belarus, Russia, the US and other countries and learn what kind of business the countries do together. We loved this museum!

The museum is very interactive. It was one of the best history museums I have ever visited.
